I Just want to Run – Week 2 Take 2

After officially completing Week 2 of our c25k plan I can firmly say we are all on our way to a better level of fitness already.

This week was full of sunshine and sweat!  And because we had determined some ‘pace’ groups we were able to sink our teeth into the challenges that week two had to offer!

Week two consisted of – a 5 minute Brisk walk warm up, 90 sec jog/2 min walk for a total of 20 minutes, then cool down for 5.

I felt confident that everyone had each in themselves committed to ‘getting the job done, and doing it well’, there was no slacking, it was just plain Jane working for that tick.
I do realise that it is still harder for some more than others, but each individual can make it as hard or as easy as they want it to be – but at the same time realising that if they step out of their comfort zones and push that little bit harder, progress will show its face in the form an improved fitness level in a shorter space of time.

For this, I am proud, to say that each is giving it their very best!

Group 1 – hitting about 3.8k on average  Group 2 – between 3.8 and 4k confidently

The last day of Week 2 Take two I had to sit out, unfortunately for me my Left foot Arch pain decided to show up uninvited!  Fortunately for me I have plenty of ladies who are happy to go ahead and lead the group, in both groups I had new leaders, subbing for those who couldn’t get out for the Day 3 run – Thanks heaps Shell and Rach, did us a great solid!!

It was great to have week 2 ticked off of our list of “to do’s”, with week 3 looming around the corner it is going to be a bit of a bigger step up challenge wise.

There is talk of running/race commitments being made through out our group, some of the ladies are choosing to make goals with their running – completing race events, getting the family involved, making active choices!  This is super awesome!  We even have ladies craving a run, and actually feeling ‘gutted’ that they had maybe missed one.

The runners high is not far away, I can smell it!

The weather is getting warmer, and our runs are getting harder, but there is not one quitter in site, we keep showing up and that is all I can ask.

Time for a nice relax and then we Punch Week 3 in the face!!
