Day 31 – Goodbye Jan, Hello Feb

Day #31

As this month comes to a close, I feel quite good about how I started the year off, and am increasingly confident that I will maintain this momentum to get to my goal which I am sure is just around the corner!  It is just a bummer I didn’t maintain throughout the entire month!
Had a good day for exercise today, and started the 30Day Shred again.  I love how easy Level one is when you have started over the Shred a million times and have not quite ever finished it ha!  Hubby has decided to do it with me which is cool, he cracked up at Jillian a few times.  I am glad to be getting my strength fix, and have even asked if we could get a pull up bar and punching bag for the house lol  I have never really used either before, but am really keen to start!
Todays run was great and I was happy to be doing my usual route, even busted the 6k, rather than just the 5.
I also ruined my great intake with 2 beers today, which I said I wouldn’t drink, but it is summer and beer is my weakness!  I hate this about myself, the fact that I can drink beer like a man!

30 Day Shred – Day 1 Level 1 – Entered as Calisthenics Light/moderate Effort.  Jared would’ve probs put it as vigorous, but since I have done it so many times, its not so bad anymore.


This will be the last day I will blog my entire daily intake, I’ll just be busting out the highlights in my posts, and some yummy good stuff I come across!
Oh and speaking of yummy stuff, I made this Clean BBQ Sauce, Totes delish with my crockpot chicken breast, filled tortillas with the mix and salad, easy as Pie!
This sauce is good cold as a dip, or hot in any meal as a condiment or meal base.
Would prefer it to be slightly smokey’er, but it was still a winner with me 🙂

Day 29 & 30

Day #29 and Day #30

Both these days went out the window, I think they followed Day 28.  Walked 29, No run/walk 30.  Didn’t track either days on MFP, so basically screwed my January Challenge ha!
On a mre serious note, I weighed myself on returning from my holiday, and it seems I have put on 1.7kg, which is a bit shithouse, but I am also aware that I usually weigh on a Tuesday/Wednesday 12pm/9am,  so there are some inaccuracies to my home-weigh.  My scales are a wee bit out compared to the WW Meeting Scales, so I dunno, will just have to run my ass off into next week!
I get a bit complacent and comfortable when my husband is home, I don’t seem to lose as much, if I lose at all, and sometimes even put on 😐  Which has nothing to do with him, it is all me and my inability to care about what goes in my mouth!
Well I think I am really bad at trying to justify the shit out of the reasons I make poor choices, i.e. I am on Holiday, Jared is home, I have got *such and such* to go to.  Again, I am full of shit and choose not to plan around these things.  Well I did semi-plan for my holiday, but those portion sizes I set out with and had every intention of keeping to, those portion sizes grew in size to probably almost double.
But I guess the one thing that I do right, is I keep going, I get my shit together and I carry on.

Tomorrow without a doubt I will run, Rain or shine, whether or not I feel like shit, Ima be out there trying to melt away the 2 extra kg I gained while away.  I did really enjoy those 2 extra kgs lol But that affair will only be shortlived!

Day 28

Day #28

Total write off day today! Well for tracking that is. But not too bad on daily calories. I think the lack of restaurants and fast food outlets in a one road in one road out beach town helps to minimise shit… Alcohol… Not so much maybe, 1x 500ml bottle of AppleTree Cider and 3 heineys. I’m so full of shit lol
Anywho, in other news tomorrow we go home and I look forward to getting back to normality and civilisation! I am a city girl and it’s tough for my ADHD mind to keep it together in a beach town, not enough action to keep me occupied, so even though I only logged one run per day while being up here I have walked at least 2 extra hours a day just trying to stop insanity setting in (anymore than it is on a normal day)

Nothing for today, was a rest day so nothing too interesting.

Outlook for tomorrow:
Taking tomorrow as it comes, going home so it’s all about packing up and making our way back. Probs stopping in whangamata for lunch, so I can’t guarantee it’s going to be within my usual days lunch calorie allowance.

Day #27
Boom! 105km completed for this month, which does not mean I plan to chuck it in now, it only means I plan to continue to add to this. 6k was good, but am getting semi-bored with the lack of mixed terrain and hills. Although the flat is great for running, I’m not getting my usual strength burn in my legs which I really like. Have resorted to doing a few squats with 9kg weight/my 1yr old son lol he enjoys them just as much as I do!

Didn’t add a fruity cocktail to my mfp, idiot! So I actually spent over my daily cals, and then spent some more! It’s hard being on holiday!!

I am completing this post on my WordPress app on my phone, so not as easy to chuck in a lengthy/witty explanation of my day ha!
Today started out great but ended in total disaster! KFC for lunch because I didn’t pack lunch, forgot all about it garr! And than beers with dinner, 5 to be exact, luckily my curry works out to be around 300-400 call without rice, and rice and a garlic mini pita – not good! Oh well tomorrow is another day and we can always run! I’d be worried if I couldn’t!

Make sure the beer is warm so you are not tempted to drink it urgh!!!

Day 24 – With heavy legs!

Day #24

Had to walk about a third of my run today because my calf muscle tightening up, my sleep was shithouse so my old body didn’t recover from yesterday’s run. In turn the flat pavement is being wasted! Need deep tissue massage!
I also forgot to add the fruity cocktail I had today to MFP, I said no to beer and replaced it for something just as bad!! Totes need to sort my shit out! It’s hard to be on holiday! And there’s a lot of exclamation mark action going on in this blog!

Take deep heat/ibuprofen gel on holiday just incase! However it’s not recommended that you get used to using this kind of thing long term from a whole bunch of stuff I’ve read, can’t name sources, I am limited to what I can do on this app, to put it simply – I cbf!

Tomorrow is at least a 6k, we did a good almost 5 k today, so finding that extra k will be pretty easy, plus I am going for time/speed to burn some decent cals!

Day 23 – Said I’d Do it, So I did!

Day #23
So yeah, I did it!  I said I’d bump it up to 6k, and I did, I know 6k is probably a warm up for some, but to me it is like a BIG thing!  From someone who has really never run since school cross country, for someone who has spent time on treadmills at a max of 15mins at a time and never on actual pavement or track, for someone who is overweight and always found something better to do, 6k is a big deal!  And I am glad to say that I did it without too much extra time either!  I think we are ready for 6.5, I just have to find 6.5 on my route!  See how that goes, and train on that for a few more weeks before I want to start getting overly ambitious again.
My good friend Amy is having Indian tonight for dinner at my favourite Indian Restaurant and I am so jealous!!!  So Curry for tea tonight, NOM!

Like I have said before, If you don’t feel like going for a run, go for it anyway and then see if you felt like it or not afterwards! lol  Same exact principle for building on your runs – increase another 0.5k, don’t know if you can do it?  Do it anyway, then see if you can do it or not lol

Day 22 – Back in the Game

Day #22
Ran Today, YUSS!!  I feel so much better now, I was starting to feel a little emo there for a second, withdrawels and all.  And I ran my longer route today and still felt like i could push for more, I think maybe I am ready to extend to 6k a day, with a goal to get to 8km – 5Miles (8.05km).  Would be a luxury to get this 8k W/C (without children)  I just don’t think it is possible to do it in a short time frame having to push an extra 20-25kg.  I may just have to do one day a week where I go out on my own to run without the children, and have hubby look after them while he is on his off-hitch.  I really wanna get to this 5mile thing, coz 5k just isn’t the business.  Plus I have to eventually increase my fitness some how, and doing the same amount everyday is not a winning way!  It will be good once the children go to kindy, I can slip in a run on my own more often.  Anywho, not a bad effort for my first day back at it after a weekend off sick, that entire weekend plus monday without a workout cost me a few extra hundred grams of weightloss, I def’s can’t do this thing without putting in a decent effort on the pavements.
Weigh-in I guess couldv’e been worse, we are now at 77.2kg, which is only 200grams loss, fucking pizza!!!
Oh and the fact that I chugged atleast 1.5L of water this morning before weigh-in because I am scared of becoming dehydrated due to still having the shits, another thing contributing to those few extra hundy still laden on my body!!!
Just so you know, we will be upp’ing this mutha!  Its time to go double time on this cardio and get in some more decent weightloss!  I worked out that 5 miles a day with 1 rest day a week during the month of feb…were looking at 193.2k, urgh making me sweat just thinking about it…lets just bust a healthy 150k for starters. – 6.25k a day with 1 rest day, I’ll take it!

Chuck it all together, divide into 6!

Added 1Tbsp Grated Parmesan and some lettuce to this as well

TOTAL CALORIES CONSUMED: 1283 – Really disappointed in my calorie breakdown today, heres me thinking quick coffee and small pastry treat wont break the bank, I already know Pastry is the worst, why the funk did I not just have extra sushi!!  IDIOT! thats why! FFS my afternoon tea treat was more than my Dinner and My Lunch, What a dickhead!

Make small achievable goals!  And make PR’s(Personal Records)/PB’s(Personal Bests).  Have a visable record of both of these!  These things are most of the reason why I have been pushing myself to do more and more.  Its not about being the best, not about being better than someone else, just about reaching my own potential and getting some self-fulfilment.

Outlook for tomorrow:
Run again!!  I might try get in an extra half k by taking another longer route home, seeing how I go for time and how I feel, I don’t like to run in the hot hot sun with the children, as there are a lot of hills and I prefer not to die running!  Am really keen to try it though!  We will see tomorrow, kinda amped just thinking about it, almost got a crush on it already! EXCITE!

Day 21 – Getting down with the Sickness

Day #21
Still not hundy percent to run, and I am way over that fact!  Tomorrow better be the day that I can bust some pavement!
My day consisted of building blocks, indoor forts, playing drums on pots and pans and reading hard covered books.  My daughter has just recently learned this new trick called a tantrum, she is really good at it too, I actually went to the extent today of pinning ways to deal with 1year old tantrums lol ya know, just to be prepared and stuff ha!
Its also grocery day, I cleaned out my fridge to be able to put all the new stuff in there, and realised because of my crook stomach there was so much gone to waste and so much still not eaten…for this reason dinner was a Red Curry Madness!  Some of my veg not yet eaten, It was gooooood!  For those who love hot indian food that is.

My Day…

Breakfast: 235 Cals
All the usual
Haraways Sweet Maple Oats w/ 1/2c lite milk
1/2c Fresh strawberries

Lunch:  266 Cals
Mashed Avo, Egg and cheese Sammie – 1/8 Avo, 1/2c Egg and 15g Cheese

Afternoon Tea: 210 Cals
Cocktail Sausage Hot dogs’ish
3 Cocktail Sausages, 1 slice molenberg Balance sandwich 13g Edam, ketchup and mustard

Dinner:  482 Cals
Red Curry Madness – Pretty much made this up on the spot, putting a whole bunch of stuff in that I had in the fridge
1 Can Watties Tomato Puree
2c Cubed sweet potato (par boiled)
Green Beans
1 1/2 Red capsicum
1 small red onion, 2 small shallots
1tsp Garlic and Ginger
2/3 tsp of cumin and tumeric
1/2tsp ground chilli
1Tbsp Red Curry Paste

Sautee Onion, Shallot, Ginger and Garlic and capsicum
Chuck in the Cumin, Tumeric and Chilli
Add tomatoes, Sweet potato and Green beans, bring to boil then simmer till Sweet potato is cooked through.

I had this with 1/2c Basmati and 1/2 WW Natural yoghurt pot


Again nothing for today, just looking at getting out in the morning air tomorrow.
